Jacques Joseph

Introduction

These pages are dedicated to Jacques Joseph, one of the most important founders of modern plastic and reconstructive surgery.

In 1905, more than a hundred years ago, Jakob Lewin (Jacques) Joseph, born in Koenigsberg, first reported on the simultaneous, endonasal correction of a hump nose and correction of the front septum. In the following years, Joseph systematically developed this procedure to suit further indications. Joseph was also extremely successful in the field of reconstructive surgery. Today, Jacques Joseph is considered to be the founder of modern rhinoplasty and one of the most important pioneers of facial plastic surgery.

Any suggestions or additions to the following topics which would promote the memory of Jacques Joseph or augment our knowledge about him, would be more than welcome.
